401K & 403(B) Solutions
Chances are the money you have saved in your employer’s retirement plan is one of the largest pieces of your financial picture. The rules within company retirement plans are complex, and the limited investment choices may leave you wondering what else is available to you. We are here to help you make sound investment decisions within your retirement plan.
If your employer offers what is called a ‘Brokerage Window’ or ‘Self-Directed Account’ through Charles Schwab, Fidelity, TD Ameritrade, Transamerica, Empower or Wells Fargo, we are uniquely positioned to provide you with professional management of the assets you have accumulated within your plan. More and more companies are offering employees the option to invest using a Brokerage Window or Self-Directed Account, and if your company offers you this option, you have the ability to personalize your long-term financial plan and investment strategy all directly within your plan.
What is the brokerage window or self-directed account and how does it work?
It is a subaccount that resides within your 401k or 403(b) and grants you access to more investment choices in addition to your preselected fund lineup. Depending upon what your retirement plan allows, you may be able to invest in a wide variety of mutual funds, ETFs, individual stocks and bonds. You will continue to be entitled to your company match, your assets never leave your corporate plan, and there are no tax consequences of utilizing this feature.
We are very familiar with many corporate retirement plans, the investment choices, and what types of investments are allowed to be utilized within the brokerage window/self-directed account.
